Health and Wellness Bathroom
This master bathroom was designed for two professionals who dedicate themselves to the health and wellness of others. The objective of the project was to be able to practice for themselves, what they preach to their patients.
Project parameters included:
- Working within the original 90” x 162” footprint without moving the existing window opening
- Creating a spa like experience with an air jet bathtub that did not position the bather’s gaze directly at the toilet.
- A zero-threshold shower with shower seat and hand-held shower and a hands free bidet toilet to facilitate living-in-place
- Improved storage and additional counter space
- Better lighting
- Better air temperature and humidity control
- A soothing color pallet
By relocating the toilet, a wet room was feasible which checked of items 1-3.
By relocating the vanity, as one contiguous piece, items 4 and 5 were checked off for more storage, more countertop, a hiding place for the jet tub motor and dimmable lighted mirrors.
New ventilation fan and operative window combined with electric resistant radiant floors and a toe-kick heater checks off item 6.
Lastly, #7 a soothing color pallet was achieved with watery blue tiles, and a complimentary group of white floor/wall tiles, countertop and wall/ceiling paints.
