Molly Erin McCabe, AKBD, CGP, CAPS, CLIPP
Welcome! I am Molly McCabe, the Principal Designer at MBD. With a passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces. I embrace a holistic design approach to transform rooms into harmonious and efficient living areas that seamlessly connect with their surroundings. My projects vary in scope, from single rooms to entire homes, and I believe in fostering a collaborative environment with homeowners, contractors, and other professionals to ensure an exceptional design and construction experience.
Growing up, I was surrounded by noteworthy design work. My grandfather and great-uncle founded Modern Age Furniture Company in New York and Miami, while my father was an award-winning furniture designer in Los Angeles. As a child, I loved designing houses for fun, playing with woodworking tools in my father’s shop, and started my home renovation journey at the age of twelve.
I’m proud to hold several professional accreditations, including Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer from the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Certified Green Professional and Certified Aging in Place Professional from the National Association of Home Builders, and Certified Living in Place Professional from the Living in Place Institute.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge through writing and speaking engagements, and you can often find my work or quotes in various shelter and trade magazines. When I’m not working, I love cooking, walking, playing tennis, and traveling. I’m also lucky to have the company of Mara, our English Springer Spaniel, by my side as I work on my design projects.
