Having worked and lived overseas for 12+ years, the homeowners wanted to put down roots in the United States. They spent two years looking for their forever home and finally found the right location and a house but despite moving in their beloved furnishings and mementos, the house did not feel like home. The objective of this project was to transform their three-level waterfront home into a true reflection of them and their lifestyle. As avid cooks, they wanted a kitchen that met their culinary talents from artisanal bread baking to wine reduction sauces. They requested entertaining spaces that were relaxed yet functional and design features and materials that complimented their furnishings and but gave the generously proportioned rooms a sense of intimacy. They craved a stylish master bathroom with a two-person zero threshold shower, heated floors and towel bar and his and her vanities with lighted mirrors and toe kicks. Lastly accessible, organized storage throughout and high durability, low maintenance materials completed the priority list.
The finished product fits these homeowners like a glove.
